Game no longer sees saves

I completed many game pre-Dragon Dawn /o trouble, but since then the game can no longer see either new saves or old ones. Perhaps relatedly, saves take longer than they used to as does exiting the game.

P.S. The "restart combat" button does still work so the game can find at least some saves...

I did uninstall and reinstall the game, and try turning off Steam saves and when that didn’t work turning them back on.

Have you waited long enough for all the save game files to load?

Of course it does not, since it is unrelated. If anything, you might consider a save game purge.

It turns out that if I click on "edit session" the saves then appear. So the save process is working fine but something odd happened to the UI for loading them.
