Fractured transformation
Hello, i just discovered the fractured transformation, it has an "Eldrazi"'s vibe from Magic and i'm a big fan. I'm enthousiasm by all the work that's done for it (the gameplay around the transformation, the number of fractured units). And also a little surprised that I can't play them. I know there are some cosmetics with this theme, but do you think this will be the focus of a future DLC ? It looks like the faes situation actually, and i hope we can play as world-devouring mages ourselves.

Although this isn't the most decipherable post, you seem to be asking if there would be an "Eldrazi" dlc.

Eldrazi look like Eldritch. We have an Eldritch DLC.
I see what you mean, but I was thinking more of an Eldrazi atmosphere in the style of Kozilek/Ulamog, with aspects of a "mana-devourer/world-transfigurer through the void." Not really the eldritch aesthetic "tentacles / madness / body horror".

Basically, I was asking if the fractured gameplay could one day be the subject of a DLC, with tomes, units, culture/sub-culture (from Astral maybe), or if they will remain simple antagonists from the Cataclysm event.
I've played magic once or twice, I have a bag of cards in my closet.
Eldrazi are mtg's take on cosmic horror, so I'm not sure they could make something eldrazi-like without it looking like they just copied mtg.

I did make a somewhat eldrazi looking eldritch soverign using the spindly body with red/blue coloration. Sorta Brisela inspired.
This last DLC has sadly been very, VERY stingy.
I got Triumph Jordi to basically admit that they decided to downgrade the ammount of content in it because... they could get away with it I guess.

The Vampire DLC was barebone, and this DLC missed a very, VERY obvious opportunity by not having a Tome of Tentacle style T1 Fractured Tome that would allow you to play as a Fracured Manastarved faction living in the Astral Waste.

Don't focus on Eldrazi, it was just an example (maybe confusing). There are similarities between fractured manastarved and Eldrazi aestetic with consumed lands, floating ruins and cosmic distorsions, and that's all.

My initial comment is : there are fractured marauders, with special landterraformation, cools units and a gameplay that looks fun, and I would like to be able to play them. But like [HN] said, I feel like this DLC has missed an occasion, and I hope that devs are planning a future content for this, with fractured tomes, units and transformation, or even a culture focused on the apocalyptic destruction of magic. Because if the fractured theme remains the property of NPCs, I'll be a little frustrated lmao
unless the devs are magic nerds I doubt they know wtf you are talking about either, which I'm sure is extraordinarily helpful to them

They've been forming a pattern with this stuff, you can't reliably get stuff like herald of war, you can't reliably get the fairies or scourges, you can't reliably get Lithorine units, you can't reliably get most of the Umbral Demons...

I know someone will be eager to correct me by saying that for some of these you can get them through ralley when you have an ancient wonder or by negotiating with the dwellings... But thats more of a bonus, not something you can rely on as part of your build, so to clarify: When I say "reliably" I mean train in a city or summon with a spell... get them on demand, not summon mid battle or need to do things in the middle of an ongoing game to unlock them.

Dwellings aren't really a 'bonus'. If you're playing with the realm traits for those dwellings on, you can all but guarantee you'll get them if you want them. The rest is less reliable, but dwellings are very consistent, and I absolutely have builds around stuff like umbral demons.

OK, so, I'll phrase it like this: If I need to have the dwelling turned on to get it, I can't get it reliably. I can only get it when the dwelling is turned on.

When I'm saying reliably, I mean available every game with no special settings in the realm. Its like saying "Well, you can use umbral incursion and Call of Chaos to get Umbral Demons" when thats not the same as having the ability to build something like the demon-gate and just be able to make them in a city.

I don't consider "Rely on RNG or realm settings" to be a build. I consider "Take this tome and you will be able to get it" a build.

If you say so. It's a setting you have full control over, to me that's no different than taking a tome.

Just a different approach to the game. I like when the theme of a faction is in the faction rather than coming from outside.

Doesn't help that I don't particularly enjoy playing with Dwellings turned on (Or even free cities for that matter), so I suppose you could say that I have to play modes that I objectively enjoy less because these things arent available in tomes.

I have never said such a thing. I have indicated that we've been adjusting the pricing of Content based on the size of the Content. We are still providing the same amount of content if not more for the same Content Types.

That's because this type of content isn't made to be reliably available to a player or the make an entire build around. These are pieces of extremely powerful content that are cool when you eventually get them.
Well, I suppose that means we won't have any fractured tome :steamsalty:
