expansion pass vs platinum edition

before i buy I wanted to clarify something. Does buying the platinum edition (game + expansions) or the Pass, include future dlc? If one is more likely to do so, i imagine its the expansion pass. Or do these two packs/deals only include what's released so far?
just trying to figure out if it's worth it. The game was great on the free weekend but i usually avoid forking out $100 for a single game.

Expansion Pass should really be called Expansion Pass 1. It includes the first wave of DLC. It's basically identical to the content of the Platinum Edition save that the Platinum also includes the base game.

Expansion Pass 2 (listed in the dlc list) is the new expansion pass which contains the new Dawn DLC that released recently and several future DLC packs that have yet to be released. You also get the unique pegasus mount and a weapon.


Note that the Expansion Pass 2 doesn't scale its price based on what you already own. So you either get it first outright or you buy the new DLC packs one by one as they come out. You can't mix and match.

To add to that, the base game with expansion pass 1 will give you lot of hours of play and you can wait for sale for expansion pass 2 if you want to save some money.
