Generally speaking you should expect every game update to break current mods.
If anyone else can chime in on whether the update disabled things, or if I am experiencing a bug, I'd appreciate the heads up.
I believe the mods being disabled was just meant as a precaution so people don't keep posting about crashes, because they don't understand patches break mods, and they have mods active. It was not meant to prevent you from consciously choosing to play with mods.
Select a playset with a mod(s) enabled
Go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4
there's content_load.json
Open in a text editor
You will find a bunch of paths to your mods like {"enabledMods":[{"path":"D:\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\workshop\\content\\1669000\\3374954236"},
Navigate through your system files and verify that there actually are some mod files on that path.
There will generally be two types of paths, one points to your steam downloads (that's mods from steam workshop)
One points to your documents folder, that's for other mods like paradox, nexus etc.
What exactly isn't showing up?
Do you have the correct playset enabled?
When you look at that playset in the launcher, are the mods there? Are they enabled?
Are you getting your mods from steam workshop? If you go into your subscribed mods, are they all there?
