Ogre Update Disabled All My Mods
So I just picked up the Giants DLC and downloaded the Ogre Update, and I rightfully expected it to break several of my mods, but I wanted to faff around and make a Giant Ruler and Faction, just to try it. I boot the AoW4 launcher and it tells me that all my mods have been disabled. Sure enough, none of my mods are working, even the ones that were updated and are apparently working. Is there something I am supposed to select or check to make sure it doesn't turn all my mods off?

They said "mods are automatically disabled on the first launch of this update" in the patch notes, maybe need waiting one or two weeks for enable it again.

I thought that was for just the Beta, but I just dug up the complete notes and it is right there in plain English. I apparently just have issues with reading comprehension. :V

updating any game generally breaks most mods. You need to wait for the mod creators to update the mods.

Generally speaking you should expect every game update to break current mods.
You can just select a playset with mods again if you want to try and play with mods. It did not delete your mods or playsets, only switched to an empty one.

I know that it didn't delete the mods, but reselecting a playset with mods does not enable the mods, even though they ARE activated on the playset. I think it is just a matter that ALL mods are deactivated for a time... unless someone in here is actually able to use their mods, in which case I am greatly concerned once again.
When I opted into the beta, I just selected my playset again, and it worked as usual. It also did not disable them again after the patch today. That said, I chose a playset with only one mod, which is my own, but its the version downloaded from the workshop, so it should not be different to any other mod.

Aaaand I am concerned again. Going to create a new Playset with just one freshly updated mod to test things.
Yeah, I just tested things, and even with a new Playset, and using a mod that was updated today (adding new banner icons), it doesn't show up in game. I switch to the Playset and have the mod enabled, but no new banner icons show up.

If anyone else can chime in on whether the update disabled things, or if I am experiencing a bug, I'd appreciate the heads up.
I did the opposite, and created a playlist with ALL the mods I am subscribed to (57) and launched the game. It got to the main menu and then quit after showing me a mod incompatibility message. I am honestly surprised it did not crash before that. Anyways, I am absolutely sure I can load mods just fine, and if you can not there is something wrong. You should post it on the bug report forum. Maybe the devs can figure it out.

I believe the mods being disabled was just meant as a precaution so people don't keep posting about crashes, because they don't understand patches break mods, and they have mods active. It was not meant to prevent you from consciously choosing to play with mods.

So I have heard from more folks that mods definitely should be usable right now. Nothing I have done has been able to get my mods working. I've submitted a bug report to Paradox.
Also running with mods without issues BUT I had to bloody fight steam to update them(several subscribe and unsubscribe sessions and a steam reboot). Try rebooting steam if you haven't, and comp, as well as verifying files. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure at this point

Unfortunately, I already jumped through those hoops and it hasn't worked. Not rightly sure where to go from here. It's not throwing any errors and everything reads green across the board in the launcher. But the mod content just isn't present in the game.

Launch the launcher
Select a playset with a mod(s) enabled
Go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4
there's content_load.json
Open in a text editor
You will find a bunch of paths to your mods like {"enabledMods":[{"path":"D:\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\workshop\\content\\1669000\\3374954236"},
Navigate through your system files and verify that there actually are some mod files on that path.
There will generally be two types of paths, one points to your steam downloads (that's mods from steam workshop)
One points to your documents folder, that's for other mods like paradox, nexus etc.

What exactly isn't showing up?

Do you have the correct playset enabled?

When you look at that playset in the launcher, are the mods there? Are they enabled?

Are you getting your mods from steam workshop? If you go into your subscribed mods, are they all there?
