Action points useless?
Why even have them if I never can be sure what I can use them for?

With three action points I assumed I could move 1 tile, use a spell that cost 1 AP and then defend with the last AP. But no, having two AP left, casting that 1 AP spell left me with none left.. Ok, so that one AP spell now cost two all of a sudden?
Even if I couldn't use another spell because you are limited to one attack per turn, why not let me move again with my last AP?

Performing an action that shows AP on it ends your turn. Performing an action with a dull, partially filled AP left on it leaves you with that much AP on it. Using an action that shows only empty AP dots doesn't end your turn, and an action with multiple full AP dots requires that much AP.

Overdraw Crossbow costs 3 AP and ends your turn. Melee attacking with a sword consumes 1-3 AP and consumes your turn. Attacking with a greatsword consumes 1 AP and ends your turn. Performing Demon Step consumes all but your last AP and continues your turn. Performing Overchannel does not consume any AP.

Tiles have different move costs. That is what you are missing in taking consideration.

The actions have different costs and conditions as well.

You can

move up to three points worth

take action up to three times

Just make sure to pay attention on the movement costs and whether the action has is a finisher or allows a follow up or is a continous action

Attacks finish the turn for that unit. Really simple.

Hmm, ok. Good to know, thanks.
Didn't find this explained anywhere, maybe I missed it?
