Save Game Encore: Restoring Your Pantheon

I deleted my Pantheon on purpose to ran into unexpected troubles, because I am not willing to ask someone to do something I would not be willing to do myself. Here is my finding which can help those who need to restore their Pantheon after they experienced it glitching out.

Your Pantheon is located here

Local: ..\Steam\userdata\YOURID\1669000\remote\Empire\UnknownInternalGameID\
(replace YOURID with your personal actual Steam ID number)

My Steam folder is located on a special SSD dedicated to games only. If you kept the default settings during installation of Steam, you might find yours at your OS storage drive within

C:\Program Files (x86)\

It would be something like this

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURID\1669000\remote\Empire\UnknownInternalGameID\

Observation

Removing the subfolder within the Empire folder leads to direct deletion of your Pantheon. Progression and information about which rulers ascended.

My initial attempts to try to restore it failed, due a weird save mechanic in play, which keeps reacreating an unknown internal ID to serve as subfolder for the Pantheon. The game, once started with a glitch or a missing Pantheon file, will always create a new folder, preventing any information from the old folder to be inaccessible.

That made me quite worry.

Solution

Not understanding what that UnknownInternalGameID is made of, and fearing it might be even DRM protected, I tried in despair multiple approaches just to find out the game insist on using that new folder with the new UnknownInternalGameID no matter what.

So... I ended up just overwriting the new content of that specific folder with the content of my old folder. Luckily enough that did the trick for me. Pantheon level 28 restored.

I will add this information to my troubleshooting guide later. This is my findings for now for quick access, as I remember some people had the issue that their Pantheon glitched out for whatever reasons. With this information there should be a chance to work towards a Pantheon restoration.

Would not surprise me at all. So far all Steam cloud has done for me is cause unnecessary problems. That's why I don't ever voluntarily enable it. Not enabling it does not necessarily mean it can't cause problems though. It has happened before.

And its not the first time Nahimic is causing problems either, far from it. Unfortunate for those that don't even know its installed on their PC, and may be the reason for their issues.

I have Cloud disabled and still had problems. I dunno, their file structure and location of save/pantheon/leader data seems to be causing some problems with game failing to find/read it properly.
