hotseat -> custom realm -> advanced settings -> factions -> set two factions or more as human players -> you get hotseat game
remote play = up to four players

In regards of roadmap I only know they have the estimated release times for their expansion pack content. Other than that I recommend keeping an eye on the dev diary which are always quite good with Paradox games.
Figured it out allready, but thank you for the attention and additions anyway. Now the last challenge for me is to convince my brothers or wife to join me or even to buy the game for further cooperations :D
I was really surprised and impressed by new progression mechanics, spellbooks system and transformations etc.
They've made the gameplay much more diverse in comparison to AoW 3, as far as I can see. And that's amazing!
