What to do about a spell jammer?
You cant pillage them, i have a clear shot at one and it doesnt allow to be pillaged?
If i sit on it, has no effect?

You can pillage them. You clicking on the province and looking for the button? Same place the button to found an outpost is normally at?

If you can't pillage it, the enemy may have a Sanctuary. That's another special province improvement that prevents pillaging within a city's domain.

I just posted about this in another thread, and not for the first time. You can pillage them, but you don't have to if you just want it disabled.

hmmmm Pluton, i tried standing with a scout, it still said my spells were blocked :(

Maybe a new patch thing?

They may have a Lost Wizard Tower wonder, which has the same effect. In that case you have to stand on that as well. In fact I did in the screenshots in the other post, as there is that exact wonder just to the right of the underworld entrance.

A sanctuary might also prevent occupation, but I have not tested that yet. If they have a Sanctuary, I would try standing on that also.

I can tell that the Sanctuary only prevents the province from being pillaged. Not from being disabled.

yeah but when i pillaged the sanctuary, i was pillaging the jammer

maybe my prob was you have to stand in the jammer a full turn?

Standing on sanctuary disables it, allowing you to pillage other things.

No it should work immediately.

sorry didnt take a shot, but i know it went that way, i tried to use army heal and that failed too cuz it said jammer blocked, in the 3 turns tha AI didnt attack again, and i pillaged the jammer, cuz the sanctuary was gone, it went into auto-pillage.
I attacked the city and easily won without the jammer

There might have been two jammers (there's another special province improvement that works as spell jammer) and its possible that there were both that building and spell jammer in that city. You would have to disable both for jamming to fail.

This whole Spell Jammer thing that completely prevent casting spells seems an horrible and totally out of place idea in such a game.. I WANT to be able to cast spells in critical battles past mid game, damn !!
And in addition they made it difficult and obscure to even disable it... :steamthumbsdown:

Well, I don't have all the possible province improvements and wonders memorized yet. I know the Spelljammer and the Lost Wizards Tower prevent spells, I think the Sanctuary does too, but I am not sure that is all. If we could see what else was present in the city, it might help finding the source of the spelljamming going on, or see if it may have been a bug.
Maybe load an earlier save next time you play, and check what else the city had?

It works the same way as disabling things on the map has worked previously in this series.
