My vote for best tome is tome of souls. You get given a new resource that allows you to make units for free - its kind of like an extra 100 gold per combat.

i tried people but its just scout spider spam in that and 6 leader stacking.

tome of horde and some of the early chaos tree perks, the one that reduces tier 1 upkeep by 30% and the one that gives you free units when you win battles are very powerful and give you the best early game. Works best with barbarian culture since their sunderer might also be the best tier 1 unit.

Tome of roots has the Vine Prison spell, which is currently pretty broken due to enemy targeting, while the rest of the tome is still pretty good.

Lategame nature affinty is probably the best as almost all tree perks are good and both tier 4 and the tier 5 book are very strong.

Vs AI cheese it then for the most op thing, get the spell to summon vines in nature. They have like 1000% priority to attack those, cast it every turn and kill them with literally anything from a distance.

Not sure about best culture, but chaos carries pretty hard. Tome of the horde lets you spam units throughout the game. Get forced March and the chaos raiding perks and you can have cheap units constantly in your enemy's territory killing their infrastructure for tons of gold and forcing them to waste time fighting those instead of your armies.

Astral Chaos Barbarians. Damage for all and defense buffs for all too. Is the most meta exist.
If you wanna something similar to meta but more tecnic, i tell you, Dark Shadow with Canibalist and Magic Addict perks. But in your mental Coolblood and put Life Recover in your physyc. And voila, you have Three Stacks from recover real health, not temporal health, REAL HEALTH. In battle you have lifesteal real health combination with temporal health and you can health too in the map. You can recover more health, damage enemys and make health shields with the excess of you health.
¿You wanna more health? No problem, take two books from Armony (Nature) and take excesive overgrown and take two books in Shadows for take Wraithborn.

Congratulations, you have 5 Stacks of lifesteal+health two stacks off recovery health in the map. ¿You wanna more damage? Use your health like damage and if some of you die just revive then ¿Oh said, yours? No, revive your soldiers AND THE ENEMY SOLDIERS, to the end of the battle they join your army. And what dislike you, you can eat for have (adivine?) more health.

Now, be a bad boy and choose Desire of Pleasure Tome, for one level more. Congratulations, you have Morale being a Undead, who have 7 Lifesteal stacks andddd inmune of the most effects of the game (except fire, sacred and physic damage).

You are a undead, who can have bonifications with moral, something tecnically not posible, but happen in the game. Enjoy your eternal criticals attack with lifesteal Seven Duplicate.

The roots spell is nice because the AI goes bonkers trying to kill them all.
Mystic is nice for raw spell damage. Industrious gives tanky armies and a very strong economy. Barbarian is ok for swarming the houndmaster as outright broken.
The devs seem to be balancing around if everything is broken nothing is.
