AI Spam is crazy
Triumph please do something about the obscene hero spam the AI do. I have about 25 heroes in my prison and crypt and the same AI just keep throwing them at me, plus the heroes also keep getting higer and higer level too. This is borderline insanity. At least give us the option to turn the spam off.

it doesn't matter, happens even on easy.

Also I don't know how it's bad, they are just a source of income for you

They can buy one hero a turn. They already put that restriction in. They will keep buying heroes as long as they have money.

Try beating the AI. That should stop hero spam.

And making it even easier for a player to beat armies?
A decked-out enemy hero, at least, gives some form of challenge (sometimes) - without them those AI factions would be even more a push-over and you could end the game right after the first 20 turns, so to speak, after you killed their initial set of heroes. Not just because of lack of challenge (what challenge?) in battle - but because it would hamper the AI in regards to wonders and other places that need a hero to interact with.
Nah, it's fine as it is.
Due to the nature of the AI capability (or rather lack therefore).

I thought one per turn was only on brutal. At easier difficulties it was 1 per few turns.

Well, if there is restriction 1 hero per turn i think it's ok. If AI have money he will just buy new heroes.

But i agree that late game managing this pile of heroes become cumbersome. Maybe devs should improve prison/crypt screens so you can see each hero equipment without inspecting him so you can quicly decide should you kill / sell him to get items or just leave it to produce mana/knowledge.

Heroes are often weaker than other units and they are a source of income.

On long games I end up with a few hundred in my crypt, squeezing a hefty amount of knowledge and mana out of them.

Uh, you could simply change the settings to where enemy Heroes are always returned to their owners automatically. This way the AI uses the same heroes throughout the entire game, adding new ones only when the cap is increased.

It makes the AI slightly better as an opponent, too. By endgame their heroes are usually decently geared and leveled. This way you're not always fighting naked, low level heroes.

That's a bad thing? Every prisoner is a potential corpse. And corpses are amazing renewable resources for passive mana income, research and souls. All you need is a single shadow tome and crypt wonder and some home improvement around the old wizard tower. And if you enjoy playing around with the item forge you can go grave robbing from time to time to keep you well supplied with items to disenchant as well as a nice bit of cash.

I'm not sure who is buying all of my piles of wrung out corpses but I'm grateful to them.

I don't really understand this complaint. They're a unit you can buy like any other, just one that can be leveled further.

idk, the hero spam are the source for my op weapon, armor and trinkets not to mention all the heroes in my crypt and prison give me free resources

Wasn't the whole idea of the prison that the opponent is one hero short on its cap?
So you could simply not execute captured heroes while the war is still going.


BTW the most essential part about a hero is not the hero himself - but the fact that you need a hero to start a siege. So no heroes, no worries about leaving towns unattended. Armies without a hero can at most pillage some provinces which only take 2 turns to repair.

Short that hero, if it's powerful. It would be stupid not to be able to buy another. You're already hurt by the loss of the hero. If the opponent buys some generic mercenary the next turn - who cares? You're already winning. What is ops complaint? That he didn't easily win a decisive victory on account of one battle killing the hero?

Which would be stupid. Just say "I want to win easy". Then go play easy!

Some people love it, and some don't. As for me, I see it as a potential exploit, but it would be nice if the developers could give players the option to do otherwise, wouldn't it?
