Premium edition vs expansion pass bundle questions
The difference between editions during this Steam sale is almost $70, but it looks like the only difference in each bundle is the Expansion Pass. However, everything I'm seeing about this expansion pass indicates to me that all 4 of the DLCs which are planned for the pass are already released with the recent Eldritch expansion. Is the $70 bundle just bait or an oversight by the devs that contains everything the $45 bundle has? Or was more future content added to the Expansion Pass after Eldritch Realms?

The difference between the two is that the Premium Edition includes the actual game (Age of Wonders 4) and the expansion pass bundle does not. I believe that is the extent of their differences.

I checked and I believe the difference is that the Expansion Pass Bundle does not include the base game, while the Premium Bundle does.

Base Game Only no Bundle:

- Base Game Price 30% discount

Premium Edition Bundle listed items:

- Base Game Price 30% discount
- Dragon Dawn 10% discount
- Empire and Ashes 15% discount
- Primal Fury 10% discount
- Eldritch Realms Full Price
- Expansion Pass Free/N/A (likely redundant by this point).
- Archmage Attiret Free

Expansion Pass Bundle listed items:

- Dragon Dawn 10% discount
- Empire and Ashes 15% discount
- Primal Fury 10% discount
- Eldritch Realms Full Price
- Archmage Attire Free

Using USD pricing as an example:

Age of Wonders 4 is currently $34.99

The Expansion Pass Bundle is $45.61

The Premium Edition is currently $71.99

Obviously the Premium Edition is cheaper than buying Age of Wonders 4 + The Expansion Pass Bundle.

It is worth noting that you can currently get the Premium Edition even cheaper through GMG.

And obviously you don't need to buy DLCs if you are not sure you will enjoy the game for long, the DLCs cost more than base game. I saved lots of money by avoiding them.

Just to add there's another Bundle right now too which I think is base game + the new old-school styled Turn Based Strategy game named Songs of Conquest. Bundle is called Rulers of Realms Bundle check it out if anyone is interested.

WHAT, alright dang lol. I had no clue it was even possible to end up with DLCs on Steam if you didn't own the base game. Makes sense.

I suspect Steam would not allow you to buy them if you don't own the base game.

Yeah there's usually like an deep orange or yellow warning saying you need to own the base game or some such (it may still allow you to buy them but I have never gone that far obviously lol). Been about 10 years since I almost did that once or twice by accident.
