Every time I showed up to an enemy capital to siege it there'd be seven armies all huddled around. Now this could just be a mega-cities thing since they only have one city to worry about but, they could at least explore around the map instead of camping their town.
I had several scouts solo-exploring and was the only one in a game of ten civs picking up gold, mana and research loot drops.
If they mixed up units it'd be fine but as it stands you're fighting clone armies back to back for three turns just so you can play turn-skip simulator for ten turns on their city. It makes wars take forever.
If you need 10 turns to siege a city, you shouldn't be attacking cities. That said, the most annoying thing about the AI is that they somehow feel the need to move every unit one by one and stack to stack while moving, which even on the fastest speed takes too long when every AI army does it.
They shoud just copy the warhammer 3 system.
If you are going to make us wait at least give us a reason too other then: We dont want players to win too fast.
Fix it.
It had like 3-6 invading mauraders each turn.
Moving your camera so they're not on screen, the AI armies will move basically instantaneously. You can look to see where they're moving initially, then move camera away and AI turn will be significantly faster.
However easy and relaxed difficulty shouldn’t do it, AI need to be toned down on those difficulties because with recent update it really became a little too spammy thanks to vassals.
The game for some reason gives them not only free units, because it must do, noway to produce that number in 2 turns. It also lets them reinforce armies that are in besieged cities, and also lets armies leave besieged cities.
That is literally the point of a siege, to stop enemies going in and out while also taking down the walls. I get it takes some time to get through throne cities with 120+ defences, but if my triple 6 stack armies are constantly fighting the defenders because they keep on being reinforced, or from outside swarms that cannot possibly be produced by a human equivalent, its just frustrating.
That together with fitting race transformations, unit enchantments and T4 Stacks makes resistance by the AI futile no matter the numbers.
Just finished Grexolis yesterday by waiting for the last ruler (the dwarv dude) to slowly die in his city, which had 160 fort and took my allied AI faction 8 turns twice to finish them. They lost the 3v3 the first time and had to restart the siege again. 16 turns of me just waiting and pressing end turn. Fun.
