Waiting for combat
Just completed my turn and then im left waiting and waiting while the waiting for combat message at top right flashes over and over at least 150 times before i just said screw it and exited the game. is there a way to end this loop the ai seems stuck in or do i have to start an all new game? Pretty sad that they cant get something like that to work right.

Never seen this. Are you using mods? Or, are you play on a huge map with maximum AI opponents on the highest difficulty? All these things can affect turn times.

Happens in multiplayer sometimes that the game does not register that the other player has left combat, and it locks the game. Leaving and loading the game helps sometimes...

ran in the same issue... no mods, medium map, 4 AI player... endless flashing "waiting for combat"...

tried to save the game and reload after closing and restart game.

had this issue in story map 4, thought it is a mod problem, but maybe not

So far I only got that issue when trying to autoresolve battles sometimes. Reload didn't help in that case as the loading screen would be stuck too, so I had to restart the game and fight the battle manually x)

for me its a problem in the AI turn

I do have a few mods. Was on a massive map with 7 AI players. Reloaded previous save and same issue each time. Was on turn 131 of 200 too :/

stll not fixed. happening on small and big maps. On big maps it have more chance to happen.
Nice to see, that after more then a year, they still haven't fixed this problem. :dip:
Seems like two AIs fighting against eachother and somehow solflocking the game.

Because 'Waiting for Combat' is only a symptom, presentation of the problem but not the problem itself. As with symptoms it can have many different causes and each case needs to be reported individually with a save if we want to fix them. So far we've been able to fix every Combat AI Hang that has been reported to us.

can confirm that, many times within a week or two with a hotfix.

also to clarify, this isn't something that will always happen in a game but in some random fringe cases, loading one of the previous saves and doing something different might (!) avoid it.

there where some hangups because AI pathing, because new content or feature was inserted in a patch, people loading old savegame despite warning not to hand having hang ups.

I haven't experienced a hang up for a long time, game is quite stable right now.

1200 hours playtime and never seen this bug. Playing small and big maps.

On the other side i have never seen a higher turn count than 130.

I bet this happens more frequently on very high turn counts like 200 and Grexolis hard, when there are too much units on the map.

For me it happend in last 2 games just this week. I just surrendered in the end. Dunno what causing it or how to prevent it. I have this game for long time and it always happens from time to time.
One of the few times I've had this happen to me was on a massive map with regenerating infestations. the map spawned so many enemies by turn 100 that all AIs were bogged down in trying to fight them off.

I now try when I play to make a save every ten turns. If a hangup occurrs, then ten turns prior gives me enough of an opportunity to make different choices and then it generally doesn't repeat.
