The answers to all your questions lie close at hand. In the top right of the screen is a letter 'i' icon. this is the in-game manual. Use it. It has everything.
What are trolls? what is a game? How does laughing work? How do i collect audience?
That crap is unnecessary! I'mg asking for help and you respond with s**t!
None of that is meant as a troll. I'm just laying out the impression you're creating of yourself. You do see that, right?
It is a tree, and it's purpose is to provide shade, shelter and food for creatures of all kinds.
You pay them.
No they can go out if their mommy let's them
By disregarding the wenches
They are a visual representation of ingame resources and mechanics
A hell of a drug
Patience and a 'can do' attitude.
Look, in case you're not trolling, here you go:

The tree thing is "affinity" it represents the direction your empire is heading in.
Theres different types e.g. Chaos for warmongers, order for -diplomats & do-gooders, nature for tree huggers, materium for builders, etc and astral for awesome wizards.
The affinity accumulates each turn and lets you unlock new abilities. Tomes and Heroes effect the rate of accumulation. If you got a couple of high astral affinity mage heroes governing cities you will accumulate astral affinity fast.
Mana is fuel you spend to cast spells and maintain enchantments look out for provinces that contain mana resources to accumulate it. Theres 3 types of spells:
Strategic - You cast these on the world map, fancy softening up an army before attacking them ? zap em with a strategic lightning spell then start the battle.
Battle - You use these during battle to summon creatures, blast enemies etc.
Enchatment- You cast these on your army from the stategic map and they will give your army buffs they will have in battle. Enchantements cost upkeep so you will pay mana each turn to keep it going.
Heroes- You get more heroes by hiring them. You pay gold and they join you, however there is a hero cap tied to the number of cities you own(and if you exceed it your charged a ton!) so build a city before hiring another hero.
You can set heroes to govern cities different heroes will be better at different things so give you different bonuses as governer.
Dude come on.. Why are you doing this to yourself?
Why not google or youtube it? Like everyone els... But nooo, you need some attention so you make this post.... Come on do alittle better than this...
If we all do this, it will be a nightmare
Yeah it is no secret that AOW4 has been 100% streamlined and simplified for the casual gamer crowd.
However the game is also full of elements making it extremely confusing, sounding 100x more complicated than it is.
Example there are so many redundant messages in the UI. There are some simple actions producing like 4-5 notifications you all have to acknowledge.
Or completely unnecessary ones; like the notification "outpost can be upgraded" when you don't have enough imperium, or the same message still displays after you just upgraded the outpost.
Spells ready to launch and spells ready to cast are two different notifications, leading to the same screen. Then you see the spell list, and they are not sorted in any useful way, like the strategic damage spells being on top. And so on.
City building - if intended to be "done right" - is its own minigame, you could spend half your time only wrapping your head around the optimal layout of province improvements and their combination of special province improvements.
Or just put the thing on automatic like a true console gamer.
cast spell on the world map
What is that Tree like thing and what is its purpose?
another tech tree besides the tome
How do I acquire more hero's?
press the hero button the one with helmet logo on the top left corner of the screen and click recruit
How do accumulate more gold?
by getting more city, make more mines or build structures that give gold
What does it take to defeat that Inferno deity thingy?
yaka? just attack him with more force or something
AoW4 is my first time playing this franchise. I have about 3 playthroughs completed (all story mode).
A lot of things are obscure for the first-time player. Resources that explain things on a system-level are hard to find (in game). How all the various map objects affect your armies or expansion take time to digest and understand. Some things are just resources to gather by a unit, others are quests, others are resources to be mined/farmed/forest-ed/etc...
Then the interplay of Tomes, Affinity, Spells take a bit to digest too.
Unit creation is accomplished by so many systems, city production, conjure spells, buildings on your provinces, the world skills thing, etc....
All I can say is don't get frustrated, keep playing until your brain starts digesting all these things. I watched some youtube channels and some people present the information ok, and others start going through things with no context, as if you already understand a bunch of stuff already.
Asking questions here has seemingly upset people who think they're better than you but I guess that's life.
