Eternal Court campaign scenario
Words can barely express my frustration at this scenario. You're expected to walk your armies through the territory of the other major empires, unharmed, to reach and complete the various scenario objectives all while they rapidly expand, steal all the best territory and then rush a magic victory? And when you select NORMAL difficulty, all the AI empires are Hard?

And if you build anything but an Order civilisation, it's utter misery because you're going against mainly undead units.

What am I doing wrong here?

I played with an Astral civilization starting with a pyromancy tome and finished it quite easily. The secret? BURN IT ALL TO THE GROUND

1. Making enemies instead of friends. Your only real enemy is Arachna, and when you meet her, the scenario is almost over. Meandor is mostly passive, the other two leaders can be persuaded to make a peace agreement and open their borders.
2. Not expanding fast. AOW4 is a surprisingly slow game with armies moving slower than a blind turtle. Therefore, I advise you to design your factions and strategies with rapid exploration and expansion in mind. At least for PvE.
3. Not savescumming. The location of all three quest objectives is partly random, so you can start with most of them in your backyard. You can even conquer both story cities before you get the quest.
4. Not going for magic victory :3 It only gets worse from here! In the fifth story scenario, your enemy is going to go for magic victory REALLY fast. Even faster than in this one. So take this into account from the very beginning. Be the first one to achieve it.

it's supposed to have a "quest" victory. meander is bewitched by arachna, so you'll have a quest to kill her faction and other 2 free cities, which represent something story-related. problem is, if you kill one of them too fast, the quest will bug out and you'll be locked out of winning that way (as it happened for me). then you can win it in any standard way, but those make no sense whatsoever in that scenario story-wise.
