Units movements speed on the world map
What use of mounts for heroes if almost 90% of units are slow as hell?
Provide more spells to speed up units and more passive heroes abilities to make movements faster on world map for units under that hero lead.

'Make fast' was a thing even back in HoMM3. That is, slow units slow you down, duh.
It's a part of the game, and if you want to be fast, then you can make a fast stack. Do no take slow units into your 'fast stack'. There, sorted.

If anything, movement should be faster on roads. I think it's 5 movement points per road hex whereas it's 6 for grasslands. There also aren't as many floating/flying units as in Planetfall.

In Homm3 there was "Logistics" skill, which allows to move faster whole army!
Boots from Homm3 also works on WHOLE army.

All mods work for multiplayer as well. There is no such mod which "only works for singleplayer" unless specifically designed for that. That has something to do with the architecture of the game.

Just make sure to pick one, and your friend you want to play with picks the same in an identical playset. You might also want to apply this

True, but the point stands. It was a game mechanic since forever.

Well the point of your topic doesn't make much sense tbh. 'Why make your hero mounted, if other units are slow'? Well aside of combat you mean? Then it has been discussed already, if you want the hero with an army be fast, then fill the army with equally fast units. You can't expect to have 5/6 mounted units, and then put a slow ass zombie or what have you as the odd man out, and expect the whole army to move a the same pace.

So you suggest to walk only with scouts in your army and the rest should not be used? :D

Which units apart from scouts move fast?
Every mounted unit, which with the X mount trait can be quite a few of them, for example. Pretty sure quite a lot of animal units are fast as well, as are many others. You just need to look around.

To be fair if you look at their upcoming patch, they are going to introduce more mounted units so you will be able to find more ways to create fully mounted armies that take advantage of the move speed.

That being said I have had success using mounted doomstacks of Dark Knights (Dark culture), and also I have had success using mounted doomstacks of Furies (barbarian culture). It feels pretty nice when your stacks are fully mounted and moving at 48 points instead of 32, it feels great.

if you select a body trait which is a mount (of any type) then ALL the mounted units for your faction (civ) will be very fast at 48 MP. if you need more speed than 48 MP per turn then load one of the mods posted above that increase world map speed by 25%, 50%, or 100%

2)
the mounted units in your empire are not just your starting hero/leader, but any other heroes you hire from your faction (civ) and well as the three culture units with mounts -
T2 (Barbarian culture) Fury, T3 (Dark culture) Knight, T3 (Feudal culture)Knight

if you hire or receive a hero from another faction (civ) which has a mount as a body trait then such heroes will also be mounted
