96 hours just gone...

Unbelievable. I took a break from playing on a daily basis to play a different game. I launched the game today, clicked on Resume, and... "Failed to Load". OK, no biggie, I'll just load normally then. Except I won't. Because there's no saved games to load.

100% of my progress has been erased. Every Pantheon level, every story scenario, every setting I changed... Absolutely everything completely wiped. It even greets me like it's my first time loading the game.

This is so beyond unacceptable that the only words I can think of to describe how absolutely unacceptable this is would get me banned. I would ask for a refund, but with 96 hours on record, I know that won't happen. Which is a shame because I'll never play this game again now. Unacceptable feels like such a trivial word for what this is.

Did you have auto save on? They seem to save each character you play and all sub folders under it will have the saves. None of them work?

Like I said, it wiped EVERYTHING. ALL my saves are gone. ALL my Pantheon progress gone. ALL the changes I made to the settings. EVERYTHING wiped. There are no saves to choose from.

I had same wipe after reinstalling game with all pantheon progression erased. Something with their files is bugged.

i hope its your hardware because that is a catastrophic bug

after reading this i'll find out where the saves and settings stuff is for the game and make sure i have it backed up

Also i was pretty shocked that pantheon progression is kept locally, not tied to your account, like for example in HOMMVI

Not saying your wrong but its extremely rare for a game to delete files.

Corrupt them sure, but delete ??

I think maybe you did something without realising it. Cause for software to delete data on your system without being prompted is extremely bad and I simply don't believe its only ever been reported once.

Did you reinstall the game by any chance? It happened to me after I did that, but it might not have anything to do with that.

The saves might not be gone yet. I had that happen too, and the files were still there. Later they reappeared in game. I then copied them to another PC, and there they were not available at first either, but today they appeared again.

Check if the files are still there in your Steam Installation folder, under "userdata/[yoursteamdid]/1669000/remote/".

The devs should by aware of the bug, but you might still want to chime in on the bug report: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/game-ignores-previous-saved-games-rulers-custom-realms-and-settings-after-reinstallation.1581140/

It may get fixed sooner if more people report it. A bug that affects more people probably gets more priority, and they might be able to track it down better if they have information from more people to compare.

I had same bug reported both in steam and on their discord. But devs didn't seem responsive of it or care.

Save later returned but Pantheon progression vanished(while leaders with pantheon traits got back, lol)

I think I was pretty clear on what happened. I didn't play yesterday, I went to play today, and everything was reset. That's pretty clear and straightforward.

I've been gaming for over 40 years. I've experienced settings being reset, I've experienced some save files disappearing but never all of them, I've experienced file corruption. This is something I've never experienced, nor even heard happening.
