Reflection enchantment. Counter spells. Equal tier units. And yes, I have seen those one-shotters. They dealt most casualties on my well balanced armies and only when I unlocked Phase Beats and Keeper's Mark I had a good counter against them.
look im not trying to offend you man, but what did you want, an easy cake walk?
obviously you needed to take more time and build a stronger army, your failing into the kid trap, gimmie what i want now or waaaaah
yeah keepers mark is so OP, i expect some kind of nerf sometime, i soooo run for that book, when you combine it with salvation its so OP
Everyone runs for evil books, cause they are the quick power route, no one is learning the light books i guess
Nice feedback. The way you just skipped answering the question directly to just insulting tells me pretty much just what I need to know about you and your life.
Thanks, I just ran into an AI army that had 6 inquisitors, stack of just awakaners and battle mages and a hero stack mixed with melee and casters.
I was just watching there how my army got stunned and damaged by the buffed inquisitors and then the spell casters just went ham on me. Good times. :)
Every tome and affinity is viable. It depends on your playstyle and how the enemy plays against it and then again how you counter the enemy. Pretty much 96% of the complaints about this and that in that regards is baseless.
There are some incredible nasty combos to explore in the long run. Like 90% chance that your enemy is stunned the first two rounds? That almost took my chin off.
I mean you are sassy towards the dude. But what are you doing during the time you watch them buff up? Its a turn based game. When the enemy takes a turn to buff, what do you do on that turn? You have the ability to buff as well, you can spend the turn to instead debuff them, you can sling spells since the more damaged most units are the less damage they deal... its a back and forth, and this super buffing playstyle works for sure, but its never as one sided as you describe it.
If anyone has starting issues to begin with, that is what I have set my guide for.
The thing is with this kind of games: you invest lots of time in your current session, and it can feel VERY FRUSTRATING when you are overwhelmed despite it seemed EASY AT FIRST and you do not know why. Sure anyone can start a new session and take their time to learn. But it is good gamer manners to give some pointers and not to forget: everyone once was a beginner here. And if more beginners get to enjoy the game more, that means you going to have more fellow players to enjoy together with. I side tracked, but not every question asked like this means threadstarter is per se a beginner. It just means they are in the middle of something and is looking for pointers. At least that is how I see it.
In my current session I have pretty much rushed the chaos tomes. I have only shamans available and I can never out buff/debuff them with my tactical spells since I have a limited amount of mana.
I guess I just have to retreat and start researching other tomes to defend myself.
