Blighted Tree makes me want to ragequit

I had to fight this damn cheese fest 3 times and lose 2 stacks to claim this stupid tree, only to be punished for winning. Somehow the place is unclaimable if you pick the good guy option even though it does not disclose that at all. I fought and lost a lot of men just to get the bonuses for the tree, only to be handsomely trolled by unspecified restrictions.

I am furious!
