Yeah I know this can happen in events, but in battles you don't always route them from low morale. Also that would suggest I'd have to do a lot more manual battles and specifically try to lower their morale?

Use wispering stone on free city, and when they give you there progress quest, pick the "good" option, which is marked with the good symbol, even when the othere rewards are better.
Do ruins, pick the good option, attack unit stacks, üick the good option, when the option pops up
Like purging your own city of herretics or taking a humble stance if your people start to whorsip you,
Also feels like once you of neutral it tents to give more options ad you to go deeper in the alignment spiral.... but idk if that's realy scriped or just luck.
The game tends throw at you balanced events that allows you to improve your desired alignment easily. It might depend on the world threat difficulty.
