Is still okay.
I'm around the same number of turns after 16 hours. Guess I play slowly?
And eventually you'll probably stop actually fighting battles and auto-resolve everything because you'll have stacks that will take care of 90% of the armies in your way. To shave even more time off a game, turn on fast movement for World Map and Combat -- armies moving around outside the fog of war burn a lot of time.
but it's true. Kind of a weird choice to do it that way.
My typical AOW3 map on Very Large+ setting would last several IRL days or more, even when playing like 15 hours on a long winter weekend.
I guess since Planetfall, and partially due to the console versions, they want to enforce small, quick matches which can be finished in one or two sessions. So 6-7 hours for 57 turns sounds normal.
The pace of AoW4 in general is a lot faster than AoW3 cause of the dual production queues and not needing settlers to plop down outposts/cities.
I assumed the intiation realm would be a couple of hours of a tutorial kind of thing, not 8 hours and counting haha
At the very least, you should always use the "Surrender" function to abandon a map, then you still get the Pantheon points for your actions.
Of course you get more from winning. Not sure if story realms unlock anything new, haven't played any of those.
