Map size is dynamically adjusted based on number of factions and the "distance" setting. Setting it to 9 players and making them all max distance will create a very large map nearly at the hard limit of the map generator.

Did you look? because there are only 17 mods on the workshop atm so i'd be pretty hard to miss the Massive Map mod
