Is there an Observer Mode?

I love creating empires and watching them grow and fight each other. Is there an observer mode in this where I can just watch the battle?

Top left of the screen in the battle screen is red button with 2 swords on it. This will at least automate the battles. Not sure if there is an observer mode for the map view though

I think what op means is to just let the ai play themselves and op just watch it....you know like a simulation game

There is an observer option in settings. don't remember what it do though.
