I usually wait until AI is done with their moves (you get an indicator) and only after that start moving units.
The "simultaneous movement" is an *option* playes can use to shorten wait times, if they so choose.
Does that let us humans in multiplayer take our turns simultaneously though? If not then that's not really an option.
Yeah there is no point for simultaneous turns in SP that I can see. But for coop MP it's pretty brutal the way the AI can just mass wipe one unit before you have time move the next one up for backup.
