Tier 3 units

I cant figure out how to get tier three units. Most of my units are tier one with a couple 2 and one 3 unite. Does it jisy happen over time. What exactly do i need to upgrade? Im playin paladins if that helps. About 60 turns in

Each culture has a tier 3 unit that you can recruit if you upgrade your town.

Besides that technology (tomes) give access to tier III, IV and V units. It depends on the unit if you have to recruit it from a town or summon it.

Some really good units can also be obtained with rally of the lieges. Units there come from your allies, vassals and ancient wonders you have taken and are a part of your empire.

You need to upgrade your city with the town hall upgrades. This will unlock your culture tier III units.
Other than that, tomes.

Ok i was thinking that just confusing cuz it dosnt say it unlocks tier three units does it? Im at work so i cant check.
Also i only ever see magic stuffnin tombs is that cuz im paladins maybe? I have alot to learn but some say thats part of the fun i suppose

I'm guessing you mean order tomes. You should have at least unlocked the Chaplain unit, or have an ability to unlock it.
Not all tomes give units, but quite a few do, you can't really only be running into spells only tomes.
You should probably spend some time reading the Tome encyclopedia ingame.

thanks for trying to help. im on the town hall( the fourth one) and still have only one tier 3 i cna summon the rest are tier one. oh well ill figure it out someday

Ok so this is how things work: you only get one tier III unit by 'default' (from your culture, every culture gets one tier III).
Other tier III or higher units need to be gotten from tomes. Not all of them are 'built' in cities. Some are just summoned with spells directly on the world map.
There are also some units that you can get form Rally of the Lieges.
Those are the main ways to recruit a new unit.
You can also get some from other sources like quests and so on, but that's a whole other can of worms. I don't want to confuse you more.

Google github ages of wonder 4, there is already a full database including race calculator online, which you can use to check every race an units
