why does some battles give me 30 fps.

i run the game mostly on 80-130 fps with a RTX 3080Ti 12GB and a I9 9900k..
i should not get these drops.

Frankly, while 32gb isn't quite necessary for a game like AoW 4, 16 gb would make more sense in the era of windows 11. For your next computer.... ram is one of the cheapest components of a computer anyway....

Blanch thought 3080 vRAM is your system RAM ;p. I, too, get 25 fps when stuff is on fire and I run a potato PC by comparison. Your system is top notch, the game's performance is not. It varies dramatically from map to map.

inadequately optimised for high end rigs at this point, it seems. Folks with mid / high tier systems complain the most - and rightly so.

Vcync is off but somehow makes no difference or a little worse. full screen would maybe help if the game had it. is this even a knoen issue by the developers?

A dev said full screen doesn’t exist anymore for windows 10/11……

Played the game for twenty hours now and had no issues whatsoever, but in the last hour (pre-patch) my FPS took a dive. Thought maybe my current game was too busy with activity or something, so I started a brand new one, and nope, I'm mysteriously stuck with my new lower FPS.

EDIT: Okay I think I figured out what caused it. It was trying to put the v-sync on anything lower than full. The lower options are supposed to increase performance, which is why I was trying them out, but they seem to do the opposite for me.

i tried all of them and it does the same thing. and again only on haf the battles.. the other haf works with over 120 fps..
i mean its still playable in a game like this but every person is different and just a little lag when they move/run round gives me a headache.

love the game though, but i suck at it. built 7 farms in a row cause i needed population not knowing that the store you can build also gives you food xD ..

im playing the tutorial map so its a quite smal map.

+1. The game's performance is weird. Usually, it holds a good frame rate - for me around 80-120 fps, but it stutters hard in battles and on the campaign map. The stuttering usually happens when selecting a new unit or when the camera shifts to something.

v-sync to 50% helped for me. Also MsAA 8x eats frames as a snack in my case.

having weird performance in battle as well,if I try to have 60 fps it get to the 40 or if I lock to the 30 it get to the 20 its really weird whatever I do I cant stop fps from fluctuating, anyway its turn based so its not really a problem

i just noticed i saved the game in the battle. quit the game. went back in, and had +90-120 fps in the same damn battle i just had 30-35fps in lol. and 12 battles after that was also lag free. so its something weird going on with the game for sure. but its faaaar from game breaking for me at least. so i still enjoy the game even though i have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what im doing,
