ya this is the one I got 3 times, does the hotfix fix this?
not an option, but I am using a controller and holy smokes I'm addicted
yeah game is great! I just bought a new gaming laptop with a 3070 and i7 12th gen so pretty sure its not my specs.
Also from what I read elsewhere turning off vsync, and having medium graphics helped some people as well.
Also capping frame rate to 60 helps with hot temps.
Also forcing your graphics card in nvidia control panel might help as well.
Gonna try all the above and will update if i get or dont get crash again.
Hrm, so cap at 60 and turn off vsync helped some people.. I was gonna try that too.
I installed the new nvidia driver, and it required a restart so hopefully it was a good one. I'm on 3xxx series too. I'm noticing the achievement completions are extremely high, I got 6 achievements and its like 40% and higher
hang in there Flarin
try doing all that i posted above. Those are things that other people have suggested. My temps for gpu was running around 75c so a bit high.
I uninstalled and reinstalled (you dont have to do but was impulsive)
after download I have a feeling those fixes listed will probably stop the crashes or at very least make them infrequent.
That's not a fun code to google lol
I ran it through ChatGPT:
Error code 0x887A0006 is a DirectX-related error that can occur when playing games or running certain applications that utilize DirectX. The error message typically indicates a "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" error, which means that the graphics card driver stopped responding and recovered.
This error can be caused by a variety of factors, including outdated or corrupt graphics drivers, hardware issues, or conflicts with other software. To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following steps:
Update your graphics drivers to the latest version.
Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the game or application.
Disable any overclocking on your GPU or CPU.
Scan your system for malware or viruses.
Disable any third-party software that may be conflicting with the game or application.
Try running the game or application in compatibility mode or as an administrator.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact the game developer or your computer manufacturer for further assistance.
To cap frame rate
1. go to Nvidia Control Panel.
2. Manage 3d settings
3. Program Settings
4. Select a program to customise: select Age of Wonder 4
5. Select Max Frame Rate. 60 should do but honestly its a 4x game so even 40 will look fine
Also while customising AoW4 in Nvidia option 2: Select graphics processor: High Performance Nvida Processor.
Theres also an option "Vertical Sync" but if there is option ingame just turn that off ingame. Might create "tearing" vissually but might fix?
"Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the game or application."
Yes. From what I have gathered the game is running above our GPUs ability and the GPU is crashing becuase of it. Doing stuff to put less stress on the GPU might fix the problem until patch from devs
