How do you annex something?

I can't figure out how to annex materials and stuff, can move my troops there but don't know what button to press. Thanks for any help!

put your hero on the place you want to annex, then just left click on the territory

If you're trying to annex provinces, click on your city, then click on the icons that represent province improvements (farm, forester, quarry, gold mine, etc.)

I had this same question. I have 7 pop, 5 provinces, shouldn't I be able to click another?

My icons are also different sizes for some reason. Is there a cap limit somewhere?

When your cities grow, you can click on the city itself and numerous icons will pop up depicting lumber piles, bricks, windmills, mining carts and so on. Clicking on that icon will annex that province.

If your city is unable to annex a province, those icons will be greyed out.

Greyed out when you click territory or greyed out on the hover? I've been doing the click city , click icon thing to no avail and they are colored on the hover (when the econ button in the upper right are checked). I guess I'll try the other option of having the hero in the province.

Side note: I did "purchase" about 2 people via the influence/power thing or whatever it is called.

So there seems to be a bug(s) where something is being inversed when it shouldn't. Upon reload I was able pick province, straight up how I was doing it before and the hovers went away; However, I now have inverse messages in certain sections that are colored saying I have the option to pick a province where before they were greyed out.

and the big question would be.. possible to have a city with provinces on normal and underworld terrains? if yes, how do we ad those provices? when i swap to the underworld my city is not selected anymore

Cities built on the surface world cannot annex underground provinces.

Cities built underground cannot annex surface-world provinces.
