System requirements and older computers

This looks like the first 4 EX game that my computer doesn't meet the baseline reqs. I have an I5 and this game requires an I7. I do have a 6 Gig GTX 1660 card. I'm think of purchasing the game to see if it runs ok with lowered settings. Thoughts about once good computers that have turned into potatoes and this games ability to be run?

The term i5 indicates things like the number of cores and base production quality of the silicon wafer, the max turbo of the i5-11400H is still 4.50 GHz, which is similar to the max turbo of my Ryzen 5900. The term i5 doesn't tell you anything.

Minimal requirement processor is from 2011. I doubt yours is older than that.
Google "i7-2700K vs [your processor name]" and you will laught at your former fears

Not sure I understand- It mentions an I7 and I have an I5?

It does not matter. Generation is more important. Minimum requirements processor is i7-2700K and it is 2nd generation since it starts with 2.
My processor is 6 years old, but it is already 7th generation and above minimum requirements.

I'm pretty confident that the game would run well, provided you tweak a few settings. The very first thing I would suggest is turning off Volumetric Lighting, this setting typically has a heavy hit on performance in many games.

Hi, as the others have indicated i5 and i7 are mostly indicators of the performance of a CPU. The i7 we list as minimum required is a 2nd Generation card that released in 2011, so if you're i5 is from any generation above that 3rd, 4th etc. it will almost surely be able to run the game.

Yep, that's a sufficient CPU. It'll preform roughly at the same level but you'll be able to play the game.

I have a RTX2060 and a i7-9700. What confuses me is that on sites as ' can you run it' i do have the minimum requirements but not the top.

Does that mean i can't play with everything maxed?
