Well Civ IV was trash on release day as well. Only numerous patches and the DLC made it an awesome game. My opinion of course. :)

While I have personally enjoyed Civ 6 much less than even its direct predecessor, this particular streamer has gotten quite a lot of content and followers from that game, so his praise of it makes sense to me.
