Good High build?
So, I like the units of the High culture, but I am unsure how I should build around it.

I have tried

Keen-Sighted, Sneaky, High, Devotees of Good, Prolific Swarmers and Champion

to get as much stability as possible, bonuses from high stability, ranged accuracy for archers and support, sneaky for extra damage from support units, and Swarmers for big cities. I also start with five rank 2 units, so strong early game.
Tome I am unsure about, think one of the two Nature ones are the best.

But I don't get the Alignment bonus from High from the very start, so maybe a neutral start is better?

Keen-Sighted, Sneaky, High, Ritual Cannibals, Prolific Swarmers and Champion

is what I have been thinking about.

I honestly find Neutral best for Alignment Agenda just because.... it's harder to get Pure Good QUICKLY and the Pure Evil bonus is not always in your best interest. It's very easy to surprise the AI by awakening your archers when their units are just one hex out of reach, leading to a triple volley they didn't position for.

Neutral is easy enough to maintain and the bonus is useful for most of the game.

Keen-sighted, Overwhelm Tactics, High, Ritual Cannibals, Imperialist, Wizard King is what I did last game. I just find Champion rather underwhelming.

My current game is a pretty strong build it seems, my paladins are pretty good.

They ave devotees of good and imperialists, champion hero so pretty good income and stability right away. Started with tome of healing too, I find being able to have that world map army heal pretty clutch at times, really helps to keep your army going with clearing out stuff.

I also gave them unicorn mounts for body trait and the trait that gives bonus damage on reaction and retaliation attacks for the mind trait.

I'm racking up a lot of imperium points, I invested in some nature tomes early on to get some nature affinity going for the population growth bonuses.
Helps though that in this game the AI factions weren't rushing to build cities/outposts way too close. But getting the imperium pretty fast helped me to establish more cities pretty fast. I was at 4 cities around turn 40 I think, by that time my champion was also already about level 10. She's on horseback with a lance.

Especially the halberdiers do some great damage with that extra retaliation damage because they use it so often.
