How's it play on the Steam Deck?
Other than the usual PDX Launcher non-sense, once in-game, how well does it run? The Deck seems to focus it's processing power on the GPU side of things, but AoW4, i imagine, is more CPU intensive.

It plays quite well but it really should be optimized!
Combats are really sluggish and slow.
I don't know how games such as jurassic world evolution 2 can be so optimized and fluid (and beautiful) while this one runs quite poorly even on more powerful rigs.
I assume it has to do with CPU versus GPU. Strategy games tend to be very CPU hungry, but the Deck's processor favors GPU intensive tasks.
Whatever the reason is, this is far from enjoyable on the deck, really. Unless you want to autobattle every fight involving too many units. Too many is not the maximum possible, just so you know.

I’ve been playing since launch day on Steam deck and love it. Medium settings slight slow down at times but not enough to ruin the game.

Thanks!

Yeah, well. Don't expect to play medium battles at more than 20 FPS. And I hope you're used to the fan noise as well.

Yeah sorry, I'm just tired of people going "it's amazing on the deck!" when it's not. At least you can make a purchase knowingly!
