Got RTX3070, Gen13 i5 13600k etc. and I'm only having issues with AoW4, tried every humanly possible recommendation on internet, be it reinstall, disabling ♥♥♥♥♥, verifying, updating graph card, even fcking formatting my windows. None worked.
I'm really envious people who didn't get a single crash or any kind of problems because this title was one of the worst experiences I ever had and I got fair share of mine. In fact, this one is my last ever Paradox published game and I'm a sucker for strategy and RPG's, just because I'm seething with rage when I saw the day one expansion pass staring at me at my library, while the game itself is unplayable.
I have 67 hours, no crashes but hundreds and hundreds of desync
Bring up Hero recruit screen.. crash
New day Event... crash
attack resource node event... crash
All the crashes seem to happen when an animated screen is supposed to pop up.
It's a great game, so please fix it so I can actually play it without losing a bunch of effort every time.
We just "lost" our second 73-turn game hosted by my friend (similar system). We try and join and just "bounce back" to the multiplayer menu. He reverted it - made no difference. In this game alone we have had hundreds of reload/desync events.
We did get to play a full 115 turn game, but have "lost" other games.
It's a good (not great) game, but the networking is poor and servers get into trouble quite often and require multiple attempts to resolve lock-ups/lock-outs.
Games like Civ-6 and Humankind are rock solid in multiplayer for us long term.
I hate Humankind's battles BTW. PvP Age of Wonders 4 has it's problems, which we avoid by moving stacks one square at a time when near opponents, avoiding "sniping".
We will stick with it, but want the devs to know it's not perfect. The enjoyment is in playing not in completion ATM.
