To be the Keeper of a race you have to own the majority of said races population. So say you have a city with 6 Blue Goblins, while someone else has a city with 8 Blue Goblins, the person with the 8 Blue Goblins would be the Keeper. If you either razed or captured the other city with Blue Goblins you would then become the Keeper.

Keeper means you own that race. Example story 1, if you control the majority of the cat cities, they may declare you as their race keeper. When you are their race keeper, you can race transform them. I am not really sure how you get to be declared their keeper yet, only done it a few times in story 1.

Keeper means that you own all the population centers of an entire race, so you can now apply alteration spells to that race. Handy in longer campaigns if you want to recruit units from another culture but dislike what buffs the AI have applied to them.

When you control 40% of a spieces on the map(vassals&cities) you become its keeper.
Keepers are the one who control what racial buff's they get.
For example
If you are the keeper of the humans you can give them raciall buff's.
Where if i am keeper of the humans you cannot give them any racial buff.
But if you have human soldiers any racial buff i give to them your units get too.

The only execption to this rule is race's who where created by wizard kings/champinions.
You need to defeat them first before you can become a keeper of their race.

for 90% of the game keeper means nothing.
For the 10% you manage to become an other spieces keeper you can then effect them with there own racial buff.

For example if i star as star elves and become the keeper of the deep dwarves i can give deep dwarves any racial buff's i have unlocked.
Same as i did with my star elves.

So simply put:
Keeper is the one who gets to pick what the race they are the keeper of become.

Your Vassals don't contribute to your total population for being a Keeper.

Pls elaborate on that? In Story 1, I vassalise the cat free city Orichalcum after capturing it from Yaka. He has 2 more cities that he founded that was not the free city. After capturing that cat free city, they declared me their race keeper even though Sunny captured the rest of the Yaka cat cities.

Did you vassalize or capture

You're supposed to migrate populations to your own and perform warcrimes so keeper means nothing, you just have to make your character a cute halfling so that everyone forgives your atrocities cuz it's "cute".

When you capture all this city or you have high loyalty (Wisdom Stones) you make the Keeper about that race. And your minor transformation is used to them and you ``aprobation´´ (Happiness) grow with them.
Multiple races keeper, make you a boss if is a mutlicultural city.

High Culture is good for be the Keepers for so much races, because increase your economy and happiness.
Dark Culture is not good have so much races keepers, because you have a penalization if they dont are Dark Culture. Basically the Darkies are most racist in the game. Dont help the mayority of this building basically ♥♥♥♥ your happiness
Barbaric similar if they use Order but are cool with all, include Astral
Astral are racist to Materium and Feudals are racist to the Darkies and the Barbarics.
Materium are racist to Astral but dont care about the others.
You must have both of Chaos and Order affinity equal for no get debuff.
So basically the better cultures for have so much races are High, Barbaric, Astral and Materium (both in similar ways).
Astral Materium Industrial is possible the best combination of economic in the game, if you added some armony because you can upgraded all the imperium benefits for economy and armony help you mitigate the problems with the Astral Vs Materium. Order can be used in similar ways and in more cases are benefits with happiness and more control, but is horrible in economic if you use order with materium (and dont have good units, who benefits basically of nothing).

Captured in a siege then released them as a vassal.

By the way, if you open the diplomacy menu, you get 3 tabs:
Other players,
Free cities,
Races.

If you select the races tab, it will tell you how much population each race has, how much population is needed to become the keeper, and who the current keeper is if any.
