who is the main protagonist?
Kind of annoyed after playing 20 different chars and had to re-arrange gems most of the time. Is this the same as other Cold Steel games with so many chars?

Arguably Lloyd seems to be the "main" path (even though imo C's route is the highlight of the game)... but really the game is setup as 3: Lloyd, Rean, and C. You'll play every chapter via these 3 routes.

It's like Suikoden 3 in terms of progression where you get to pick which of the 3 main characters you want to play as first, then doing the remaining 2 POVs before moving on the next chapter.

Even if they're trying make Rean and C some kind of pseudo-main characters, the true main character is Lloyd.

At first i would have said C but since lloyd is imposed on us several times then teams merges I think the game makes him the main character.

Too bad Lloyd´s route is widely considered the most boring one.
C´s route is really good and they do some interesting things with Rean, also the main conflict of the story is arguably very Rean related.
Lloyd and his party basically just reenact Azure and its just kind of of bland?
But they drag out Lloyd for some of the big "this is the plot!" explanation scenes so in that sense he could be considered the main player insert.

This game has 56 playable party members. In 3 different parties you constantly switch between. So yes, it has a LOT of that, arguably the most of all the Trails games yet.

Well, Lloyd, yes.

I changed my mind actually. This is not 'the 5th' of the Erebonia arc. This is basically 'the 3rd' of the Crossbell arc, the one finishing story set in Zero-Ao for the region. It's just Crossbell arc is interrupted/intertwined with Erebonia arc but as we can see most of the Reverie events happen in Crossbell still and lots of side characters stories here are finalized. Thus definitely Lloyd as he's the one for the arc. Two other story sub-arcs exist just to merge the Erebonia arc characters in.

It's actually 51, and 10 of those are corridor-only (including some post-game-only ones). In the main story, your party tends to be limited to 8 characters. You only really have a full party for the final dungeon, but even then it's best to just pick a favourite 16 and leave the rest benched.

Still too much.

FFS Baldur´s gate 3 doesn´t even have 10 and it´s an 100 hours game, Let alone Persona games.

I like Trails games but you can be full of s**t sometimes. Better stay quiet than defend s**t.

why they have to put us through all this adjusting gems...CS IV was ok since characters came with same sets of gems and items.

I've never adjusted quartz from character to character for different segments of any of the games in this series. I build a character up and leave them alone. I ain't got time to be swapping stuff around.

Yeah, setting up orbments for ~50 characters is now my favorite business...

hey there is a mini game you must bring that person. "spends 30 min to figure out the best set up".

Lloyd's arc is not boring, it is the continuation of Ao no Kiseki. Crossbell is finally liberated.

Rean story is finished in cs4, but falcom decided to do fan service.

C is interesting.
