It used to work with protonup-qt package developed by Glorious Eggroll but it appears that Konami Developers decided to inject Anticheat software like other Games developers are doing and it is no longer running on any Linux Distro, not even on Gaming Distros like Garuda Linux or Nobara which are meant for Gaming.
As a test, I went back to install Windows again and noticed that after launching eFootball from Steam in Windows, a new step is required which is the installation of Denuvo Anticheat software. And guess what? It launches every time you play the game.
Too bad for this game, I really loved it playing it on Linux too with no issues. I will have to run both Windows and Linux in dual boot just for this game. I no longer have my PS5 console, that's why running in dual boot is my only option for now.
