your left analog should be able to do a full circle without flickering (erratic fast differences), you should be able to a slow full circle with analog fully pushed to sides and also you should be able to do it with analog pushed halfway.
If your analog stick circular movements are buttery smooth without flickering, then you can continue blaming the game.
If the inputs are flickery:
If you are handy, you can disaablme the gamepad and spray the analog mechanism with a contact cleaning spray. it might work if the oxidization is not ciritical.
If it does not make a difference, then you should service that gamepad and make them replace the analog mechanism as it has oxidized.
