Player facial animations in the replays seem to be a major problem for some people, they can look goofy, but how much do they really matter? Not much in reality. Also player interactions with physical pressure can look a bit weird, but again, if the resulting play is fine, does it matter if it looks a bit wonky?
Defence is similar to attack, you need to try and foresee where your players need to be so they can defend properly. It is like real football in that respect, players need to stay in position, or you will probably suffer. Don't drag players out of position chasing balls to much, better switch to a player nearer the area of action that is nearer to their playing position to preserve your formation. Don't leave yourself vulnerable or you will suffer, no amount of 'dash' will help if your all over the field.
I can't really speak for the negative reviews so much. I got a free football game and I'm enjoying it, and will hopefully continue to do so as the content and patches roll out.
My main worry is that Konami listen to the review bombing from FIFA fanboys and turn it into a FIFA clone, if that happens then I'll be gone along with many long term fans I imagine.

the game has not to adapt to yourself you have to adapt to the game people dosent understand that
the game dosent look really good but the gameplay is fine assisted people will not agree with this statement but dont ear them
Konami has done pretty much everything wrong when it comes to marketing.
We were promised Nextgen with a whole new feel to football.
Unfortunately, you can still feel very little of it at the moment.
BUT you can feel it.
The new controls are absolutely brilliant for me, but it takes a few hours to understand.
We are already at point 1 where most give up and rate the game as bad.
There are currently only two modes to play and few teams to choose from.
That too has led to enough negative reviews.
Unfortunately, the graphics are not sufficient for the year 2021 and there are also some bugs that have to be fixed.
Or rather, the graphics are actually okay, more the movements of the players are very unrealistic
Many negative reviews also come from Fifa kiddies who believe EA's fast PinPong gameplay has something to do with reality.
In general, many more factors have to be taken vy ur self that are taken over by the CPU in Fifa
By and large, efootball feels a lot more like football than fifa.
The game will need a few more months to become a full-fledged soccersim.
What after two years of development is simply bad from Konami.
Nevertheless, I am convinced that eFootball will be a great soccer game.
My biggest problem is that there's this thing called 'lag cheating' which has apparently been an issue for years and Konami still haven't found a way to stop it from happening. That means that most of the online games are so laggy that the game becomes literally unplayable (ie. you get input lag of 2-4 seconds while your opponent runs around you like it's nothing).
Also, if you don't like playing online then there's nothing to do offline. Just exhibition matches with hardly any options (only two difficulty modes and one setting for game length) and hardly any teams (literally no more than 15 teams to choose from). If you're a single-player gamer than the game isn't even worth playing for free.
Like I said, the game has been working well for me and I enjoy playing online when there's no lag, but I can also see why so many people hate this game. Look up the glitch videos and it becomes clear that it's not working properly for everyone who plays it.
whilst i get your point about being free, many users themselves would much prefer to pay for a game if it's what they want, this is after all why we all buy games in the first instance...
another point is that many people simply are against major fundamental changes, which is up to them, but in my opinion shows a degree of ignorance, but to be frank i think the major gripe is that the title was released as a finished game when it's obvious it's a glorified unlimited demo, as most of the teams game parameters and game modes are simply not there, the games visual optimization is currently poor, had konami made this clear on release or simply waited till the game is complete ratings i feel would have been different, so that's a major marketing goof on their part, and what do you have against dogs anyway?, lol nvm just joking..
Football one game ONE name, period
