Do I need to play the first two?
Just curious about whether or not the games are reliant on having played the ones before it. Thanks.

Nope, so far all the games in this series can be played independently. Sometimes there's a throwaway reference to other games, as well as the fact that characters are shared between games, but nothing important, there isn't a connecting narrative or anything like that.

Mostly agree, though especially in this game there is key character development to Miranda that has way more payoff if you have played the other two games. Especially if you take into account that Monster Prom 4 will have Miranda & Vera as the key characters.

I would recommend playing the first two games because A) you get more of a feel for the world the characters live in and get excited to see reoccurring characters, and B) they're just also really fun games with their own stories! But so far no I don't think you Have to play Prom and Camp to play this one-

It's not nesesary, but there are some references to the previous games. On the second game there was an option to disable this callbacks if you don't want to feel left out of the joke so there might be one on the third one as well

It's not necessary to play in order, but I feel this game really develops the characters from their foundations in the earlier games. I played in this order: 1, 3, 2 - and the game was definitely still fun and enjoyable for me, but at times I felt like I was missing a small element of the story (and there is not a setting to tag content from previous games)
