I know about the exploit, but I'm still trying to find all 12. So far I've been able to find 10, including the one you get after leaving the doll in the bathroom . I'm wondering if the two I'm missing could possibly be connected to other side quests I haven't completed. I noticed there's a ghost in the park that looks to be eating dirt. Is there something you're supposed to do involving him? I was hoping that the corpse hanging in the woods would fall down and reveal another coin but no such luck.

All of the coins I've been able to find were positioned in pretty fair spots. I didn't see any along the way where my thought was the dev didn't want people to find them, so if there are two just randomly placed in impossible spots, that would seem kind of odd. Anyone else find all 12?

There are 2 that are specifically tied to side-quests.

one has to do with the doll (and will require combining it with something else)
the other has to do with the phone booth.

I got the phone booth. I'm fairly certain the item I need to combine with the doll is in the park, judging by the picture on wall. However, it's not quite apparent what the expectation is from there. I've tried taking photos of the ghost from about a hundred different spots hoping it would trigger something, but that doesn't seem to be it. I've run all over the park just spamming E in case it was randomly buried somewhere. I've tried interacting with and taking pictures of shovels, thinking that might lead to something, but no luck. I feel like I have the right idea, but I'm just not triggering whatever event needs to happen.

I've noticed that there is a minigame inside the shack with the ID. Does it drop any coins? I've tried to get it to do something by taking out the 3 ninjas before a new one spawns and getting a 1000 score but none of that triggered anything.

I went into the phone booth, interacted with the phone, and then basically ran around outside the booth until the phone started ringing. Then I went in and answered, left, ran around outside until it rang again, rinse and repeat, until a ghostly figure ran by the booth. At that point, after much trial and error, I found out that you have to take the ghost's picture from behind a wall in the park across the street. There's a little nook to the left of the water spout, and if you haven't picked it up yet, you'll see a magatama flashing on the ground. That spot is right where you need to stand to get the picture of the phone booth ghost. Of course, after that, go back to the booth and you'll get the coin.

Okay, so I've finished the game and apparently I've missed one coin and got the bathroom glich where placing the doll in the stall doesn't trigger the scene and the door to the coin remains closed (probably because of taking a photo before finding the doll). This means that I've somehow managed to find a coin you missed. The only one that seems to be very missable is the one in the long fence area with the ghast on the ground which connects the bathroom area with the starting area and had centipedes on the gates. It was in lying on the ground some distance behind the ghast near the right side of the fence. Keep running and hitting E and you should get it. Also, did you manage to take a photo of that ghast? For some reason I couldn't get the right angle.

I had the same problem.
If I went to the bathroom and met the girl before I went to pick up the doll, she wouldn't open her door when I gave her her doll afterwards.
She opened her door the first time she entered the bathroom with her doll already!
I don't know if this method is correct, but ...

I found 11 coins, but I just can't find the last one.
Are there any other tips about coin in hard-to-find places?

I'll give a run down of all the coin locations for you guys; Since I can't be sure of where or which ones you aren't finding.

1. beginning of game, item pickup tutorial
2. playground, where hte jibakurei is digging by the wall
3. behind the pavilion next to the midnight door
4. phonebooth side-quest
5. stuck in the Doll's eye socket, use an item to get it out
6. at the picnic area on the hill, on the ground near the lighter
7. in teh chozubachi by the shrine on the hill
8. in the toilet if you give Hanako the doll before taking the wrench from the bathroom. (make sure to take the one in the doll's eye socket first!)
9. in the broken vending machine by the restrooms
10. next to the clock by the bathrooms, hidden behind the trash
11. in the maintenance tunnel on the ground. underneath a metal sheet
12. in the security shack next to the security panel, on the stool.

I hope this helps! based on descriptions of the events with Hanako, everything there is working as intended.

They are all shy ghosts, so I'll do my best to find them!
