Bugbear had wheel support out of the box for their 3 Flatout games and Wreckfest. Wheel support would bring $$ to the Trail Out Devs. But now, if support going take this long, might as well wait for a 50% off Steam sale next year. I was a fan of Trail Out in September. Unfortunately not a Fan anymore. The Trail Out thread over at Bugbear forum going quiet these days.

The Good Boys have lost this long time Flatout fan. :(

It has been moved to 2023 without any month.... this sucks! Well i want to play the game but i won't until my expensive setup is supported. I really don't need any pre-configured settings. Just support for the hardware and manual mapping is sufficient and prefered to any pre-configured layout.

I tried one last time yesterday to try and convince the Good Boys Devs to do wheel support before they release the beta online test in March and it a no go. :(

From Trail Out Discord:

Purple44 — Yesterday at 6:20 PM
@Johann Hirsch any chance of getting wheel support so I can buy Trail Out and do the online beta test in March??

I'm not sure, we're not thinking about it yet. We have an arcade game, not a simulator

Steering wheel support will be someday, but it is not at all a priority thing, as the game can be played now and in the future on consoles.

It's really sad to hear that...

i give up on devs putting in wheel support on anything anymore, the last 3 games i bought either have it not working properly or said they will add it......still waiting and it's so far back burner i'm wishing i had refunded before i hit the 2 hour mark.

Just bought it from the sale. Will give it a few months to see if they add wheel support before refunding. Racing games without wheel support are a no go.

But, you only get 2 hrs of game play and up 2 weeks to claim a Steam refund. If wait a few months, will be to late to get a refund.

I HATE this logic. Crazy Taxi isn't a simulator either but in the arcade that's a wheel and pedals. So is Mario Kart. This is a nonsense argument.

Sounds like you're new to this, so here goes:

Less than 2hrs gameplay = Refund
Less than 2 weeks since purchased & under 2hrs gameplay = Refund
Anything beyond that = SOL

I don't refund normally, I just bought it and haven't played it yet.

Hey Purple44.
Nice to see you involved with this game, and nice to see you are still around the forums.
I almost refunded the game, because NO keyboard rebinding, and it was a slogfest of grinding to get no money.
But once Free Ride opened up, it got fun, even though I cant use 1/2 the keys.
I am keeping the game now. I just hope they fix key/mouse re-binding, and racing wheels for you all that use them (even my G13 doesnt work rebinding the keys. I think I read they only support Xbox controller somewhere).
And, that is redonkulous, saying the game works as-is. LOTS of games work as-is, to what the devs think is working, but lots of people cant play it. Hard capping keybinding in 2022 is just LAZY developers.
I did recommend the game, on sale only, though. And only if you can handle the myriad of bugs that come with the game "working as-is'....
