The game looks very promising, hopefully this can become the Flatout 3 that we never got.

My main issue is that visually the crashes, car deformation, physics, world destruction, explosions all look absolutely 10/10 awesome - BUT if you want to win a race, then the best way is to avoid collisions as much as possible because most of the time they cause you to slow down, spin out, flip over and thereby lose positions. Even crashing full speed into the side of another car (which should be the most rewarding in a game about crashes) only gives you a minimal amount of nitro bonus which is nothing compared to the speed you lose plus the risk of having a car stuck sideways in front of you.

In Flatout 2 and NFS most wanted they artificially boosted your cars mass while having nitro or the slow motion active which made it really rewarding and fun to crash into and plough through other cars/environment. Also I remember in flatout 2 crashing gave you so much nitro bonus (and nitro was more powerful) so that a good crash always gave you an advantage because even if you did lose speed from the crash, you could recover with the nitro you gained. I hope something like that gets added to this game too (could be a configurable option if other players prefer more realistic physics).

In the tricks - dart minigame, I could not get enough speed to hit the targets. Am I missing something here (like a manual launch button in flatout 2)? I tried both crashing through the barriers (with losing speed from the barriers but permanent nitro active) and driving around the barriers (to not lose speed but with less nitro).

Bonus points for the amount of content in the demo (I would've expected only 1-2 cars and tracks) and creative names (like "Mauer" and "Katze").

Some other minor issues:

• the very first controls overlay the game displays is shown for too short and at least one of the buttons was wrong too. I was very confused because it said F=accelerate S=brake and by the time I got over that and wanted to look at the other controls, it was already gone.
  
• volume levels need some finetuning. In some cars the engine sound is very low compared to the music while in others it's louder.
  
• Menu controls with mouse and keyboard are overall very solid, but it is counterintuitive that you need to press enter to change the volume sliders with the keyboard (I first thought this was a bug and then later
  
• In two places I've seen money referred to as "funs" - is this a typo from "funds" or is it intended that the currencies are "fans" and "funs"? If it's the latter, then why is there a dollar sign?
  
• When buying the 2nd car I wasn't sure if I could affect the best parts in all categories because you would have to write the prices down and calculate the sum externally. It would be better to have a shopping cart system here where you first select all parts and then the game tells you that for example you need $5000 to buy them all but you only have $4500 and then you can decide in which category you pick a weaker item instead.
  
• Steering with the keyboard seemed to be instantly 100% (at least judging by the camera rotation) and the sensitivity option didn't seem to affect it. I prefer it like in most other games where holding down the key starts to turn and releasing it starts to go back to center so you can then tap the key to partially steer.

I can't even play it at all. When I attempt to switch to full screen it turns into a small window in the upper left corner of my screen. Very disappointing.
