Can't Get Past Tutorial With Gamepad?

As soon as I start up the game it goes into what I think is a tutorial, but the only button that works on my gamepad is the Select/View button which brings up a menu, but I can neither navigate that menu nor the tutorial with any of the buttons on my gamepad. This seems to be the case regardless of if I disable or enable the Steam Controller API.

If anyone else was having this issue, as soon as the tutorial starts, press the Select/View button to open the menu. From there use your mouse to click on Settings then Keybinds.

If the controller section for P1 is blank, click Assign Controller and then press a button on the gamepad you wish to use. The game may ask to rebind if the controller had already been set to player 2. Confirm the choice. Exit the menu, and you should be able to finish the tutorial from there.

Another stumbling block: Using the A button to advance the text during some of the box-clearing tutorials results in a spell being used immediately after the textbox disappears, causing the quest to fail. I seem to be able to get around that by skipping the tutorial text after the first failure, but it seems odd there isn't a delay between the last textbox and the challenge start to prevent that from happening.

Yeah you have to carefully press X to bypass the text and NOT use your spells at the same time. Confirming with A or B causes the selected spell to fire as well.

Tried playing online matches. The first one is what I assume is a bot named Test 2. The second one looked like it queued up an actual player, but the game froze up before the match start. I waited about 2 minutes before hitting Alt+F4.

Also, it seems like my default title is "Alpha Tester" despite never having played any of the test builds of the game. My guess is that it might somehow be misinterpreting data from One Step From Eden as part of this game? I also noticed that my default volume settings were really low, which I do recall doing in my late stages of OSFE grind. I turned the music volume up to 100 but it still seems oddly low compared to the sound effects at 75%?

Another freeze on my second match. The first match was also a bot. I'm picking Neera, if that matters any. I wanted to play Maypul but I figured I should check the panda first given my icon.

I'll try messing about with the game for a few more minutes, but I think I'll come back to this in a week or two.

Took a while, but I was finally able to get into a match after the most recent update to v2.11. I had to go into Properties -> Installed Files -> Validate Cache to force it to grab the update for some reason.

Was able to play enough to reach level 16 and get a couple of matches in Ranked. So I guess most of the initial weirdness is taken care of now?

Coolbeans! Thank you so much for making the game, and congrats on release! I know things are stressful, but I am glad DoE exists.
