Will local multiplayer remain in the game and any plans for more than 2 players similtanously?

Hello I find the premise of this game pretty intriguing although amn't personally too interested in 1v1 games. Will the developers consider introducing more simultaneous players in a game to potentially allow 2v2s or free for alls with many players and additionally, would there be any plans to keep offline multiplayer and possibly remote play in the future?...
