Even this doesn't seem to always work, but it does significantly reduce the number of complaints. I have made certain that all of my aisles are 2 spaces wide, that all decorations on the floor are ones that don't impede movement, and occasionally I still get a complaint here or there.
I have had complaints seemingly stop after separating a row of 5 pedestals against the northern wall into a 2 and a 3 row with one decor item betwixt them... yet the southern, western, and eastern walls all have rows of 5 or more.
I only have small and medium pedestals, and they touch on at least three walls, but not in the center floor aisles.
I genuinely don't understand this mechanic, but I'm glad to see the complaints stop. I need to sell 4 more Novellas for the fish kid and then I can just stop opening my store forever. Then when they fix Basil and Chico I can befriend them and from there all I need is a second Bismuth and the remaining 4 Relics I'm missing for the museum.
