Does Chico ever leave their home?

I've yet to see them leave, so I've not been able to raise their friendship. It's frustrating.

I've noticed the same problem, can't seem to find him on the map at any time of day. I've been trying to raise the friendship by simply opening my store a lot in the hopes that he comes shopping because he's the last paleofolk to not have a 5 star friendship with me.

Several people have reported never seeing Basil or Chico on the map

Basil I have seen in the afternoon after moving their house. But Chico doesn't seems to ever come out.

Same. I've maxed out everyone else.

Im missing 3, Chico is one of them, the other are the wolly rino and the quetzalcoatlus.
Is Really annoying :(

have you tried to move the houses of the other 2 to see if that makes a difference? And in the friends book you see when they aren't at their work, aka when they wander around.

Odd. I just tried this by moving his house in the morning and he still wasn't out and about in the afternoon. It's frustrating, because he and Chico are never seen outside of occasionally visiting my shop. Basil's first visit he ordered a Crystal Case, which I can't even make because it requires 2 Rubies and I only have one after giving my first to the Museum. I hate that recipe as much as I hate the Harvest Hamper.

I never see Basil anywhere, and Donnie randomly entered chat mode rather than merchant mode one time so I immediately did a Hangout... he never left his stall even while hanging out with me, but he gained Friendship so I didn't care.

Rowan never seems to stop meditating, and Russel only hung out with me one time, when I found him clipped into his little dirt mound.

It is very frustrating. The game has phone recipes, why can't we just call people to arrange a hangout with them?

Also in the same boat of never seeing Chico on the map. I have fully befriended every other NPC though.

I haven't seen Chico outside since completing the quest for him. I actually can't see Chico on the map at all, only his house. When it comes to all the others characters I see their icons on the map right next to the house icons if they're tending to their own shop/chilling inside their house, but Chico is completely missing.

I've also noticed Rowan and Donnie are stuck in their houses, Rowan is always meditating and Donnie selling stuff, so I can't talk to them/give gifts/ask to hang out...

I've never seen Basil's icon, only his house icon. Just like Chico, he simply doesn't exist unless he's visiting my store. It's crazy.

I might have a solution for Donnie (wholly rhino) and Rowan (quetzecoatl).

For Donnie, you can cheese talking to him while he's at his shop. Squeeze yourself between his booth and the table and slowly clip through the booth till you can talk to him without opening the shop interface. Ask to hang out and go crazy. Even if he can't follow you, he still gets friendship points by clicking the hang out option.

For Rowan, while he's at his shop at his house, go to the region editor and move his house 1 tile facing in one direction, then right back to where it was. If you do it right, you'll see him move with his house while you're editing it. Somehow, this put him just slightly far enough forward to talk to him without getting the usual options for his shop.

Chico doesn't exist. I'm hoping they fix it soon, he's my last one.

That's odd, I have seen him walking around fairly frequently. I saw him at the ice fishing hole the first night he moved in, instant friend.
