How do you rotate the camera ?

The icon at the bottom for moving the camera around suggests that you can rotate it but it will only let me tilt. I feel blind without being able to rotate the camera and see where things behind me are.

From my time playing, I only managed to rotate the camera inside the store while I was editing it's layout. If you can rotate the camera outside on the island itself, I never found it cause I tried pretty much the things like you did.

I might have to experiment with the keybinds because I can't tilt the camera at all using the default keybind (possibly because I have a G600?)

Got tilting to work by rebinding -- my funky mmo mouse was indeed interfering with the default keybinds. I know that doesn't help with rotating, tho.

I wonder if maybe there is no rotating and the icon is just a bit misleading? The fact you can't place houses with the entry facing north leads me to believe that's the case.

From what I got from watching people play, the camera is meant to be a single direction, think of it as an aesthetic decision. Sort of like Stardew Valley, and I don't remember the last Animal Crossing having a rotatable camera either.

I'm ok with that, means you spend less time twisting the camera and more time just enjoying the handcrafted world and gameplay, than trying to spin the camera for different shots of everything.

The camaera can only tilt and zoom, even in picture mode, the only time you can rotate the camera is while editing the shop.
