1930's, T2, but countries continue to want "upgrade" of T1 tanks with T1 hull, T1 engines etc. And there is no T2 tanks that can be selected in the contract screen, so if you stop producing T1 tanks and removed it from your tank list, you can't propose a T2 tank to this countries.
It's annoying to see countries having T1 tanks in the 1930's and refusing to upgrade their tank units to T2 tanks.
For example, France continue to ask for Wire Crushing Tanks with CA-1 hull but doesn't want to replace them with more modern tanks.
In some case, I can propose T2 tanks for similar roles. I replaced every T1 "Saturation tanks" with T2 tanks with similar capacities and light hull/armament. But the fact that some tanks roles of WW1/T1 has no suitable replacement in T2 means you can't propose replacement if you remove T1 from your tank list. This roles needs to be removed when going to T2.
I hope we will not see T1 roles in T4 in the future, with CA-1 tanks kept in service alongside M1 Abrams...
Hi Rittersporn
Indeed, we noticed that the countries were "slacking" in actively updating the regiments with new tank roles, which is why it felt worse during the Interwar era. This will be addressed in the next update. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
I have to question the suggestion designs should go obsolete.
Better balancing of value of newer designs vs old ones sure, but I disagree with making them obsolete.
What might be interesting would be looking at the economy/purchasing power of different countries. Rich countries might go for newer, better and more expensive, or possibly stick with proven designs (high fame f. ex.)).
Whereas poorer countries go with the cheaper, older, less proven stuff.
What I'd really like to see is work on battle outcomes/fame.
As long as the tanks are doing well in battle, that should be a positive(increased fame).
Losing fame because a battle is lost, and not getting any because of a draw, even though the tank does well, doesn't seem right.
