How can i unlock additional lines?!

Can't find a way to unlock those.. Feels really strange, a game about being a "Tycoon" but can't actually expand my production capacities :-(
I can kind of understand why research has to be locked to one line, but other stuff, like import/export makes absolutely no sense.

How do i do that? Just by researching everything in tier 1 or is there also a kinda time lock involved?
I also noticed that i can't build any more upgrades for the production hall.. I assume that is also somehow locked with the tier? The UI, help and tutorial does not give any hints regarding that.

One of the buttons in the left upper corner of the HUD with a trophy symbol on it.
Click that and you'll see a yellow bar that shows how far you have progressed towards tier 2.
You progress by several different means such as how many tanks you have manufactured, and sold, how much research you have done, etc.

Ah thanks, thats what i was missing. Thought those were some kind of steam achievements and i kinda ignored that view until now :)

It´s more about the contracts.The more contracts you do, the faster you reach tier 2.
