.SAV File Editing
Has anyone figured out a way to open the .SAV save files for the game?

It seems they recently changed it's ZIP file to another platform

What are you trying to edit?
If it's something as simple as money, then there was a Youtube by a German that showed CHEAT ENGINE changing the number of tanks created.
Something like Craft __X__ tanks, search 4byte & exact
Enter the number of tanks created
Go To the Tank Warehouse, recycle a tank
Search the new number >>>
Rinse >>>
Repeat >>>

Eventually you find the right number, change it to something silly like 9999 tanks

Then scrap all but 7 to 10 of them

You have all the resources you will ever need to build your army, selling off what you don't

More money than you can ever spend

Mind you, what's the challenge then?
You can just unknown initial value and then decrease value by "anything that cost money" and it will appear on 4 bytes setting.

What I'm trying to do is alter the era score, sav file encryption on a single player game is making it seem impossible. Already tried a few methods of altering era score in cheat engine but no luck.
I've got the money down, when I need/want it. The factor I'm after is research, date adjustment, perhaps date adjustment after unlocking all tech- try to find a way to restart the game without restarting the game. And whatever else I see that catches my eye.
But, yes- the save files are of the .SAV file extension. As of yet, I haven't found a way to open the file.

I would advise against trying to amend game files at present in case it messes other things up
That wasn't the question, or even a concern. That's what backups are for.

Yeah, also not a big fan of the encrypted file, might also hinder modding which would be a really sad thing. Before you could change the era score by changing the sub-scores, as the actual score is calculated. So you could calculate how many tank you designed based on the sub-score and search for that. Sadly while can still search it and change, it will just crash the game a few seconds later now.
That's a neat method of manipulating the available values, not gonna lie. Shame about the crashing part. And it would still leave the player ticking ever-closer to the end-of-game date.
